This theme combines both Sogno Dell’Arlecchino and Blood & Candy into one! However, you are not obligated to use both themes in outfits for your trolls, or neither of them at all; feel free to mix and match at will, or do something else entirely! 

Only trolls wishing to enter for Grand Couturier must match the theme - or one of them, at least - as best they can. This restriction does not apply to ball royalty.

Circuses on Alternia are well-acquainted with blood of all hues spattered against their tent walls; now nihilistic revelry and sweet carnevale fare is entwined with the gleaming, elegant mystique of rainbowdrinkers, those fearsome creatures of the day. 

Kilran Barbas meant only to enact his vision of bloody decadence, but a visit from a matesprit’s distant fuchsia relation (and his blank check) has compelled him to combine his plans with the old clown’s desire for a beautiful carnevale event. He does want his mansion’s picturesque cliff and lake fixed, and he doesn’t feel like footing the bill from last sweep’s explosion all by himself.

So a deal has been struck, caegars have changed hands, and now the undead and the mirthful go hand in hand, all indulging in their own delights beneath the chandeliers of the Alternian Yule Ball.

So there's a homestuck rp server run by Antis called Serverstuck where they literally banned the creation of adult fantrolls that aren't important to server lore, basically everyone outside the staffs team, from 2017-2018 to early April 2023

I made 2 OCs there a week prior to the creation ban was lifted, got banned and called a pedophile for putting my OCs who was 13 & 15 in a relationship (nothing NSFW)

They decided not to put a banner that literally said [TERFS, TRANSMEDS, ZIONISTS, PRO-PARA, PROSHIP, AND EXCLUSIONISTS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT] on the ads they put for Homestuck Requiem Cafe event last year, 2 people got banned from their local homestuck community because the mods decided to ban them since one of them allows people to commision dead dove content & made everyone in their local homestuck community label them as dangerous. I had to email the requiem team about the server because they will put another physical ads at the event area.

The server owner is Derry Luttrell, he has a TTRPG podcast named Dice Will Roll where for suspicious reasons there are no mention of any Antis rhetorics. His name is already public knowledge through the prodcast because he linked his PROFESSIONAL TWITTER on the podcast's website

I have screenshots, I would rather stay anonymous though because there are people who came forward saying the mods harassed them after being banned

I will always be baffled about antis in the Homestuck fandom. Like uh, excuse me? You mean the media where minors are required by law to fuck their relatives and have the business of repopulating the world or else they die? That's your fandom and yet you're still an anti? My brother in christ you've got EVERYTHING in there.

Let's do a community thing!

Okay so, back in the day I held the "Fantroll art for the artless giveaway" Which has a long ass name but was essentially a giveaway started by me where people volunteered to draw art for people who didn't have the means to get any.

I just got back, but, from what I can tell, the community is much smaller now and I don't think the same thing would go over quite as well.

BUT

I still want to do like a community thing to bring people together and like make us feel all connected.

The most popular pokemon to be fantrollified at the moment is Hisuian Zoroark, with 2 entries!

The most popular type at the moment is no longer tied, as normal has pulled ahead with 7 entries!

The most popular generation at the moment is a three-way tie between generations 3 (Hoenn), 4 (Sinnoh), and 6 (Kalos), with 5 poketrolls. Generations 2 (Johto), 7 (Alola), and 8 (Galar) are also only a single entry behind, meaning that we have a very even spread of submissions!

Currently 3/33 poketrolls catalogued are shiny, or ~9%. The odds are just getting better and better.

i said i’d say my spicy opinion and here i go:

anime and weeb trolls are unoriginal and terrible when played straight and it’s so pervasive in the community.

there’s also the whole low-key fetishization of east asian (read: japanese and somehow only japanese) culture by folks who aren’t east asian, but i’m not east asian so i can only raise a brow and curl a lip at non-asian folk rather than lead an educated controlled burn of the obsession people have with it

but what i CAN talk about as a writer is how absolutely cookie cutter people are with their anime and weeb characters. there are a dozen trolls that fit the following stuff:

your seifuku anime girl, who’s secretly tough, a lesbian, and part of a girl gang as a way to subvert the racist meek trope but in reality, people focus too much on the sexualization of the literal high school girl uniformed asian troll

your ninja assassin, with a katana and/or an oni/kitsune mask

your female big boss character, in traditional kimonos or yukatas with humongous honkaroos and the outfits pulled down to showcase them

literally just a background character in black butler. just a dude in a suit and probably glasses. you know what i’m talking about, you can see it in your mind’s eye

the decora yandere troll (pink colored, possibly in a lolita dress or a seifuku)

your meek geisha characters who run a tea shop and may be an assassin on the side who kills targets with needles. a subsection of the ninja assassin, really

like there are so many things people can write about, but people go for the same old tropes all the damn time and it’s not even done well half the time. watch something other than anime! read something else other than manga! be self aware of the shit you make and for gods sake stop being weird about east asian people and culture! 

you guys can have japanese characters but at least fucking put some effort into making them into actual people, not cheap copies of common tropes. is that all you guys can think of when you make japanese characters? just these tropes? you aint got a single original bone in your body to not reduce it down to these?

Welcome to the 12th Perigee Eve Ball, a winter event designed to let people show off their trolls in beautiful outfits and have a chance to crown a King, Queen, and Grand Couturier of 2023 and maybe even forge some new bonds and roleplays with friends old and new!

Please enjoy and see below for more details!

Attending is easy, since the invitation is open for everyone. Just keep an eye out for the official post about the inauguration for the ball on the 16th of December. After this, how you attend is up to you; whether you post openers under the ball’s open rp-tag, or if you rather roleplay in private, write drabbles or create art pieces, the event is your oyster!

It’s a GREAT opportunity to interact with people you’ve never interacted with before since trolls attending would naturally be in the same area, I highly recommend reaching out to people you normally don’t roleplay with these two nights!

You’ll find most you’ll need to know in the Guidelines, so make sure to read them!

That aside, you can also have your troll nominate a friend, quad, or even themselves, to be the Ball King and Queen, or Couturier! The winner will be crowned during the ball night, based on collected votes by everyone attending.

More information is likely to come up the incoming few weeks if needed! Please feel free to send asks if you got any questions regarding the event, just make sure to read the Guidelines first and check the Q&A-tag if anyone has already asked the same question. (Note that some asks may be from earlier years, but in most cases they still apply, ask if very unsure).

here it is. the end of an era. working on friendsim has been an absolutely wild ride. i honestly can't tell you what its meant to me to be a part of something like this again. i've learned a lot about myself and what im capable of and what im willing to do to make it work. i guess this probably comes off as cryptic.

a lot happened. an absolutely bananas series of events that lead up to this project and the more baffling moments that have transpired since. its... one of those things that only homestuck could have produced, you know? It was an incredible opportunity with a lot of ups and downs and emotional significance. it will probably continue to be that. I had a lot of fun doing all of this for you. it also... ate up a LOT of my time, though. I have been on a nonstop homestuck train for like the last five years and only now that i've gotten into the groove of things its ending again. bittersweet. for now.

i don't really know how to feel but i hope i at least wrote a song or two you liked along the way.

heres the one for MC/DOC SCRATCH that i think is my favorite from the whole thing. its based off a song from an old (bad) fantroll album i did in like 2011 (and the song was written even earlier than that) that i have since purged from the internet as best i can. thank you for not reposting it. i re-used a lot of assets from it for other stuff. i was in a real weird place when i made it so aside from it being kinda bad i just... don’t wanna see it ever LMAO. that album made the homestuck music community real mad at me because they thought i was getting preferential treatment for being popular on-line and friendly with some WP staff on twitter. my unofficial album got approved for sale and at the same time, completely unknown to me someone on the music team's album didn't get approved. a handful of them used this incident to talk shit about me for several years. one of them made fun of me for my dad passing away?? yikes. most of us have made our peace (i understand how easy it is to get caught up in dog-piling on a common enemy or w/e) but theres still one or two that are like... still real mad at me for this percieved slight. they'll say like "you were rude to us" and its like... you guys... literally made fun of me for not having a family i’m not sure what you want from me.
